Bojonegoro — Did you know? At STIE Cendekia Bojonegoro (STIEKIA), there is a Student Activity Unit (UKM) called the Student Regiment (MENWA), which serves as a platform for students to develop leadership, discipline, and a spirit of national defense.
This year, 13 STIEKIA students participated in the Student Regiment Basic Training (Diksar), a mandatory basic training for prospective MENWA members. This activity was held from January 26 to February 8, 2025, at Dodikjur Rindam V/Brawijaya, Malang.
The MENWA Basic Training aims to shape prospective members into disciplined, resilient individuals who are ready to become true soldiers with strong character and responsiveness to various situations. This activity serves as an important foundation for students to prepare themselves as future leaders who are not only academically intelligent but also possess a solid mentality and character.
This year's Basic Training was made even more special by a visit from the 2023 Commander of MENWA STIEKIA, Rony Baihaqy, who has now become a TNI soldier serving at Pomdam V/Brawijaya. Rony, who is also a final-semester student in the Management Study Program for Working Students, shared an inspiring story about his career journey from being a MENWA member to becoming a TNI soldier, while still completing his studies as he approaches graduation.
"MENWA was an important stepping stone in my life. The discipline, loyalty, and sense of responsibility I learned in MENWA have greatly helped me reach this point. I hope the juniors participating in this Basic Training can make the best use of this opportunity," said Rony Baihaqy.
Rony's story serves as real motivation for STIEKIA students that pursuing education while working, even in a military institution, is not an obstacle to continuing to excel in the academic world.
STIEKIA hopes that through this program, students can hone their leadership, strengthen their mentality and character, and become agents of change who are ready to contribute to the nation and the country.
