Hydroponic Training: Improving Food Security in an Era of Fluctuation

In an effort to strengthen community food security amidst global changes and fluctuations, a Hydroponic Training themed "Improving Food Security in an Era of Fluctuation" was held on December 17, 2024, in Pesucen Tanjungharjo.

The activity, which began at 08:00 WIB, featured speaker Irna Nur Rafidah, S.Tr.P, who provided a comprehensive presentation on hydroponic plant cultivation techniques. Participants received material ranging from an introduction to hydroponic systems and how to build simple installations, to tips on choosing suitable plants for cultivation.

This training was sponsored by the "Mekar Abadi" Agricultural Store and was open to the public for free, attracting interest from residents of various backgrounds. Through this method, the community is expected to be able to utilize limited land to produce healthy, fresh, and sustainable food.

Irna emphasized that hydroponics is not only an alternative solution amidst land limitations but also a strategic step in facing food security challenges in an era of climate change and unstable prices. The activity was interactive, featuring a question-and-answer session and hands-on practice, allowing participants to immediately apply the knowledge they gained.
